Hamilton Thorne Inc. Overview

Hamilton Thorne designs, manufactures and distributes precision laser devices and advanced image analysis systems for the human fertility, animal breeding, stem cell and development biology research markets. In addition, Hamilton Thorne offers complete IVF lab build outs in the USA.

The Company's novel laser systems are a standard in IVF clinics and are rapidly emerging as the dominant products to facilitate precise micro-surgical procedures with stem cells and other living cells in the laboratory. Specific applications include the reducing time in developing transgenic animal models, dramatic reductions in cell damage during micro-surgical procedures and higher yields for many cell procedures.Hamilton Thorne's laser products attach to standard inverted microscopes and operate as robotic micro-surgeons, enabling a wide array of scientific applications and IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) procedures. Currently the Company has three clinical lasers and four research lasers that have been introduced, most recently the new LYKOS with Dynamic Targeting Sytem. Each member of the laser family is built on the same architecture, but serves different market applications.

Hamilton Thorne’s CASA (Computer Assisted Sperm Analysis) image analysis systems are designed to bring quality, efficiency and reliability to studies of reproductive cells in the human fertility, animal sciences and reproductive toxicology fields. These systems assist researchers and clinicians in analyzing sperm motility and other characteristics in human fertility, toxicology and animal applications. In 2012 the Company began a significant investment in additional hardware and software capabilities across this product line and began to rollout the next generation of these devices in the third quarter of 2012.

Hamilton Thorne’s growing customer base includes pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, fertility clinics, university research centers, and other commercial and academic research establishments worldwide.
